CALCULATE MAXIMUM SUPERELEVATION

HOW TO CALCULATE MAXIMUM SUPERELVATION

Hello and Welcome Friends.

Here We will try to solve and Calculate the Maximum Superelevation Value.

As You Know Superelevation is used in Horizontal Curve Portion of the Road.

What is Superelvation formula answer is described below.

Thanks

e = B(V)2/GR

e is equal to B V square divided by GR

Where:

e  = Maximum Superelevation Value

f  = Lateral Friction Factor Value. (It is a standard value or figure)

V = Velocity and Speed of Vehicle

R = Radius of Horizontal Curve.

Know Put Values of these segments.

e = ?

f = 0.15

V = 50 KM/Hr

R = 100

Solution:

e = (50)2/127 * (100)

e = (2500/12700) – 0.15

e = 0.1968 – 0.15

e = 0.046

e = 0.046 * 100 = 4.60%

If Velocity or Speed Value is given in Meter/Second then used

e+f = (V)2 / gr      (g=9.81 m/Sec2) other are same as described above
